Think you can’t teach an old dog new tricks? Think again! Dogs of all ages crave a job. Join Laura Nativo & Preston Casanova, the duo named “America’s Favorite Ma & Paw” by Entertainment Weekly, as they share Hollywood’s movie dog secrets for training advanced tricks and creative behaviors. You’ll
learn the how your dog can break into show business as a canine actor – regardless of where you live! Or, apply your dog’s star pawtential to help humans off-screen, through canine entertainment, as a certified therapy dog.

Trick training is perhaps the most fun way to bond with your four-legged best friend, providing the mental and physical stimulation dogs need to thrive! Dogs without a “job” are often bored, and left to find their own source of entertainment (your cat? shoes? couch?) which translates to many owners as misbehavior.

Using Positive Reinforcement Methods through Clicker & Yes! Training, you will learn how to transfer your dog’s energy into a fun, positive, rewarding outlet, and become a happier, more stable, better mannered canine in the process. Trick training helps your dog build confidence, improve flexibility, develop body awareness, strengthen thinking abilities, and understand how better to communicate with you.

Celebrity dog trainer Laura Nativo designed this 2 hour seminar to give each dog parent the tools and understanding of “how to” train through play, as you integrate trick training into your daily life.

This playshop welcomes dogs of all ages with a foundation of basic obedience, and is a terrific supplement to your dog’s current group classes or in-home training.

Join Laura & Preston on Saturday, February 26th in Santa Monica, for a FLASH MOB, in support of pet adoption.  They’ll be singing & dancing along to a medley including “AIN’T TOO PROUD TO BEG” for the “ADOPT A PET – SAVE A LIFE” campaign in a doggie flash mob of epic proportion!  The organizers are looking for singers, dancers, camera people, and brass instrument musicians.  So grab yo kids, grab yo wife, and grab yo husband too.  ’Cuz they need errbody out there to join the madness!

FLASH MOB FORMING TO PROMOTE PET ADOPTION!

Join us in saving lives on Saturday February 26th!

Be a part of the first ever ‘Flash Mob Howl’ – a flash mob with a message that invites on-lookers to participate and other communities to repeat and build upon! This is a non-partisan event, meaning we will not be promoting one group, but the overall message of ‘Adopt a Pet – Save a Life’.

In spite of everyone’s hard work, animal shelters in geographic Los Angeles County euthanize an average of 9 pets every hour, and 4 -6 million pets are euthanized every year in the U.S. Springtime means the highest level of euthanasia due to litters of puppies and kittens being brought in and holiday gift pets being left.

Local rescue groups, students, choirs and pet lovers are joining together for this unique flash mob to encourage people to adopt from a shelter or rescue rather than purchase a pet from a pet store who typically get animals from puppy and kitten mills. We hope to have several hundred participants from all over SoCal, and all ages are welcome to join. This is an all volunteer venture, there is no budget, just a lot of heart!

The event will take place near the coast in LA County – the specific location will be announced shortly! The Flash Mob will be recorded and posted on YouTube so that we can inspire as many people as possible to adopt from a shelter or rescue.

We’re looking for SINGERS/CHOIRS, DANCERS and BRASS and CAMERA PEOPLE with digital cameras to work with our Director.

After the song and dance we will ask the crowd to join us in a 30 second ‘Howl to support adoption’, which we hope will be the signature ending of other Flash Mob Howls created around the world in response to our challenge at the end of our video. We hope that others will create their own versions of a Flash Mob Howl and post them on YouTube to continue the message of ‘Adopt a Pet – Save a Life’.

Will you join us and use your talent to literally help save lives?

The Flash Mob Howl will take place Saturday February 26th with a rain date of Saturday March 5th. We anticipate that it will occur sometime between 11:00 am – 12:30 pm, and we will be asking everyone to arrive at 10:30 am at the latest.

We need both Group Captains and Group Members.

Group Captains are responsible for the following:

• Gathering Group Members, their email addresses & phone numbers.

• Updating the ‘Home Office’ with the number of participants in the Group. Groups with 25 or more participants will receive a thank you in the credits at the end of the video along with the name of their group captain.

• Arranging rehearsal locations and times

• Conducting rehearsals

• Ensuring the Group’s Flash Mob style of staggered participation as well as the classic ‘walk away’.

• Being the point of contact for the ‘Home Office’ for the Group and sharing Flash Mob Howl information with the Group

• Groups are encouraged to wear their logos or colors!

• Encouraging car pooling to the Flash Mob site (TBD), we will not be able to provide free parking

Group Members are responsible for the following:

• Participating in rehearsals

• Learning the appropriate routine and joining in the Flash Mob at the requested time. Doing the classic ‘walk away’ after the mob is over

• Arriving at the Flash Mob Howl venue (TBD) on the given date on time. Please car pool as we will not be able to provide free parking

SINGERS: Do to the level of skill required for this performance and the quality of the sound recording needed we are asking that singers be a current or former member of a choir or vocal group. Each group will need a group Captain. Sheet music will be provided via email, and the Captain is responsible for copying and distributing the music to the group. A CD of the lead choir will be sent to the team Captain to help ensure homogeneous style. We will connect choirs in similar geographic locations so that possible joint rehearsals can take place.

DANCERS: NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED!! Anyone of any age is welcome to dance! Each Group will need a Captain. Groups in close geographic proximity will be connected so that possible joint rehearsals can take place. A link to a YouTube video of the dance to the music will be sent to each Captain for rehearsal purposes. Individuals are welcome to email us to be given contact information for a group close to them.

BRASS: We need trumpet, trombone and sax players to join us!

CAMERA PEOPLE: If you have a digital camcorder and are able to come help record under the supervision of our Director please get in touch!
